The particulars and contract terms on this side of the Atlantic Ocean may still be in the works, but AS Roma wasted little time in confirming what seemed like an impossibility a little more than 24 hours ago: U.S. national team fulcrum Michael Bradley is returning to MLS.

Roma posted an announcement on its official website claiming that the U.S. midfielder has been sold outright to MLS for $10 million. Bradley is expected to be headed to Toronto FC, returning to the league where he got his start as a professional in 2004 with the New York/New Jersey MetroStars.

Bradley had originally been included in Roma’s matchday squad for Thursday’s 1-0 Coppa Italia win over Sampdoria, but he was replaced by new signing Radja Nainggolan. After the match, Roma manager Rudi Garcia confirmed to reporters that Bradley was on his way out from the club, before the Giallorossi made their official announcement.

Neither MLS nor Toronto FC has issued a comment on the move, which was originally broken by ESPN’s Taylor Twellman, just yet.

We all get that....$$ trumps all decisions.  With that said, the weekly talent Bradley faces in Series A is far greater than that of MLS.  I personally just wish Bradley and Dempsey had stayed in Europe to gear up for the World Cup.    Our 2 most important players need to playing at their peak before June.  I hope they can achieve this in the MLS.

Oh my, look at what RickPotts did. Wow, he has to be the cutest 13 year old posting on CNN/SI. Pretty clever trick. He should show his little brother.

Very confused. First off, Roma's season is still going, Toronto's is not. Obviously, Roma no longer wanted him. So, why does Toronto pay $10 million? I am pretty sure that Toronto could have gotten this guy practically free.

waste of $$...I think Bradley is great but this amount of $$ is far too much. Furthermore, what about the other teams that have to compete vs Bradley or Dempsey?  The league, meaning all teams, pay for these overpriced transfers and then have to compete vs these players.

Sucks for him. After playing for such a great squad and be decisive at times, it must really stink to come play in the Minor League Soccer.

Don't see how MLS can afford these redonkulous player transfer fees if they want to stay in business long term.
