If things seemed relatively quiet on the Aron Jóhannsson front lately, there’s a good reason: The Dutch Eredivisie has been on its winter break since mid-December. AZ resumed their league campaign on Saturday, though, and Jóhannsson picked up his scoring form right where he left off.

The American/Icelandic forward bundled home a (pretty sloppy) goal on the stroke of halftime as part of AZ’s 3-0 win over NAC Breda. Video after the jump.

The goal is Jóhannsson’s 12th in 17 league games with AZ, which moves into seventh place in the Eredivisie after the win. Their next game in the league is a big one — at eighth-placed PSV Eindhoven — but before that they must pay a visit to Joda JC in the KNVB Cup quarterfinals.
